Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for ensuring high quality of assigned projects, through effective supervision and execution of assignments with respect to time and project schedules. Also, they are responsible for assisting in the articulation of comprehensive long term strategies and plans for STC’s non-technical projects, in compliance with overall STC objectives.
Job Responsibility
Manage multiple, related projects in a coordinated way, achieving benefits that could not occur if the projects were handled separately.
-Formulate project management budgets and plans keeping in view strategic, operational and implementation costs and the annual improvement plans identified.
-Manage implementation of new outlets, refurbishing existing outlets including logistical/technical requirements (in coordination with procurement) to ensure all requirements are met to activate the outlet.
-Manage implementation of initiatives such as identifying bottlenecks and optimizing the process flow to improve efficiencies, control costs and drive synergies within the project management space.
-Articulate long term plans (3 year, 5 year plans etc.) related to General Projects and performs analysis to highlight these to the senior management.
-Review and approve project design and tender documents including the scope of work, bill of quantities, contractual terms and conditions, Terms of Reference (TOR).
-Prepare feasibility plans, master plans and budgets for assigned non-technical projects and ensures that the project implementation is in compliance with established budgets.
-Articulate comprehensive project plans and execution strategies for high budget and/or high risk non-technical projects and develops effective project scope, objectives and processes.
-Manage various project scheduling tools and procedures, for effective project control.
-Ensure design and implementation undertaken by consultants and contractors are monitored on a regular basis, in compliance with established standards.
-Monitor project against schedules, budgets and objectives, reporting status to management on a regular basis.
-Approve process for change requests which impact project scope, schedule and/or budget.
-Ensure all approved changes relevant to projects are reflected in project milestones, for tracking purposes.
-Manage sign off process from consultants on project completion and reviews completed non-technical projects before handover of asset to relevant departments.
-Evaluate bids received from vendors, participates in price negotiations and participates in the vendor review and registration process.
-Identify current and potential risks in the project, in order to plan mitigation and initiates timely preventive action to avoid project delays.
-Ensure effective coordination with relevant Sectors in matters related to consulting contract management, invoice generation, vendor/contractor payment etc.
-Troubleshoot and support evidence based insights and recommendations pertaining to bottlenecks in the current project management process.
-Analyse reports and metrics, identifying potential issues and undertaking preventive measures to mitigate relevant operational and business risks.
-Analyse market best practice to identify potential areas of improvement on critical work processes and makes recommendations.
-Formulate contingency plans and assists in implementation of DR (Disaster Recovery) project phases (planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing), with respect to General Project Management.
