Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for managing and coordinating all derivatives and financial risk hedging activities across STC and its group companies, focusing on interest rate and currency risk. This includes developing policies, executing hedging strategies, conducting in-depth financial and market analysis, supporting investment and cash management decisions, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
- Works closely with FRM to understand potential market risk, mainly interest rate and currency risk for STC and coordinates all derivatives related activities within the Group companies
- Develop financial risk hedging policy and mechanism where needed, and provide necessary inputs to management
- Manage the activities and processes for derivatives and hedging (structuring, documentation, execution, monitoring and unwinding), and necessary reporting
- Develops and maintains market risk hedging and financial derivatives for hedging policies, procedures and tools for STC and its group companies to mitigate potential risk based on markets conditions and ensures that all hedging and financial derivatives are in compliance with STC and regulatory guiding principles
- Supports Cash Management in dealing with Forex deals i.e. spot, forward, and OTC structures and to analyze the current & future investments it terms of derivatives , equity, commodities, currencies & interest rate in terms of risk.
- Perform research & support senior management to develop understanding of local and international debt market dynamics on liquidity, interest rates, currency exposure, and any Ad-Hoc analysis requested by the management
Job Responsibility (cont.)
- Coordinates all derivatives related activities within the group companies. Monitors and analyses derivatives risk, taking into account collateral sufficiency, stress testing, counterparty risks and concentration risks as well as assumed and known risk limits, operational issues, etc.
- Performs in-depth analysis on different currencies vis-à-vis real effective exchange rate, interest rate parity, purchasing power parity, etc. and recommends the optimal currency
- exposure to management
- Coordinates with relevant departments to prepare Treasury presentation (periodically) in order to assess the performance of STC and benchmark it with its peers
- Collaborates with all stakeholders to assess interest rate and currency risk in order to take initiatives for hedging the exposure
- Prepare periodic report on global interest rates, commodities, equities, currencies and credits movements.
