Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for advising on and evaluating IoT devices suitable for integration, while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with market trends and business needs. This role exists to drive innovation within the R&D function, enhance operational efficiency, and support the lifecycle management of new technologies. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in advising and forecasting for available devices in the market, suitable for IoT solutions integration & application.
  • Evaluates devices based on technical specifications, compatibility, and industry standards.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their requirements and preferences for device selection.
  • Assesses & reviews database/repository of scouted devices and their key features.
  • Stays updated with emerging technologies and trends in the IoT device landscape.
  • Practices and encourages innovation across the R&D function leading to the development of unique products and services that differentiate the company in the market.
  • Studies and analyzes business cases requirements and identifies opportunities for leveraging IoT devices.
  • Proposes use cases and scenarios where devices can add value and improve operational efficiency.
  • Delegates feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed use cases.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to refine and validate use cases.
  • Recommends use case proposals to stakeholders, highlighting the benefits and potential ROI.
  • Promotes and enhances market agility by continuously preparing the R&D function to quickly respond to and capitalize on evolving market trends and customer preferences.
  • Specifies & organizes research and feasibility studies to understand the potential value and impact of new devices.
  • Evaluates the technical specifications, features, and integration possibilities of new devices.
  • Stays informed about the latest IoT devices and technologies entering the market.
  • Explores and innovates to generate proprietary knowledge, evidenced through white papers, enhancing the company’s classification and rating in the industry, globally.
  • Supports in the identification and integration of emerging technologies, involving strategic planning, strategizing various R&D initiatives, ensuring the alignment of technological advancements with the company’s goals.
  • Supports & supervises integration of new technologies into existing systems.
  • Orchestrates development and implementation of new device technologies.
  • Supports in overall Device Lifecycle Management activities, advising on the entire lifecycle of devices, from development to deployment and maintenance; ensuring feedback is acted upon for continuous improvements.
  • Ensures all R&D products meet the highest quality standards, empowering & governing the Quality Assurance and Product Testing Team.
  • Participates Guiding Compliance teams to meet relevant regulations and standards, across the spectrum of all R&D activities and products.

Performs other responsibilities and tasks related to the job as directed by line manager

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred

 

Years of Experience:

  • Preferred experience of (2 - 4) years, or equivalent in the area of expertise
