Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for preparing Zakat returns, provisions, and related filings for stc and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely payment. The role includes managing communications with tax authorities, handling assessments and objections, and securing Zakat certificates. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedure.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare annual Zakat returns of the stc and review the subsidiaries informative Zakat return.
  • Assist in ensuring payment of due Zakat on the company within the legally prescribed period.
  • Obtain Zakat certificate for the stc and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare monthly and annual provisions for Zakat.

Job Responsibility (cont.)

  • Periodically analyze the trial balance and report on financial impact related to zakat.
  • Prepare responses to Zakat queries, and ensure good communication with tax authority to resolve any matters.
  • Review Zakat assessment issued by tax authority, prepare internal analysis and argument, and file objection.
  • Prepare and file appeal letter with GSTC committees (CRTVD, ACTVDR).

5 and Above

Nature of Experience

  • Prior experience in group financial consolidation including ensuring adherence to Tax and Zakat regulations and standards in a large-scale service oriented industry preferred.
  • Prior experience within the KSA region and/or the Middle East region including knowledge of regulatory environment and context is preferred.
